Whenever I am assigned a project for the class I right away think of Microsoft powerpoint, growing up when the pc culture was starting to become the everyday use we were taught Microsoft office programs.
No idea is your own anymore everyone will copy it, for years and years Microsoft has dominated this market, until Google came into the mix, not just google either, Prezi, Sway, and Kingsoft software. The best thing I like out of all of these applications is the fact that with Google and networking with your classmates or co-workers its as simple is to invite them to the presentation to work on wherever they are. In fact, everyone that I know now uses Google programs because they are free, in order to compete Microsoft needs to make these applications free, they do offer student discounts but in a world were things are crazy expensive, the free software will do just fine.In class this week, we had a guest speaking that talked to us about LinkedIn, LinkedIn is a social media that is used for companies to find qualified candidates for potential job opportunities. the guest speaker was giving the class a basic concept rundown on the media platform. I was getting used to using LinkedIn this semester, but he was able to teach some important things about the program that I had no idea about.

Untangling The Web, by Adam Bellow and Steve Dembo, wrote a chapter on presentation software and hit on the fact that they understand the pain that the audience sometimes will endure with boring slideshows. the book talks about a different approach that you can take in order to avoid this problem that's going to continue to the end of time, or at least until we don't use computers anymore.
