In today's blog, we will take a look at this fantastic program called If This Than, That "IFTTT" for short. this program allows you to link your social media altogether and make everything one, I think that the program was more designed to simplify these apps and save time in our everyday life, but still be able to stay in the loop with everything. Smart homes are the future, not only our everyday appliance like washer and dryers or the light bulbs that we turn on now linked to WiFi, but you are able to control all of these machines with the simple sound of your voice via Amazon Alexa, and Google home. One of my new favorite things about smart homes, is the door locks, many people tend to sometimes forget to lock the door of their home or apartment, what technology has allowed us to do is to create these self locking locks that use your either Bluetooth or WIFI that's in your living area, and connect to a program like IFTTT to secure your personal belonging on the go, and lets agree that carrying a key is so in the past.

Instagram is everywhere, personally, I post at least 1 picture a month, more so to just share what's going on in my life, that I would like to share with everyone. IFTTT has created a way to change how you use Instagram. IFTTT allows you to share your post on Instagram but also automatically can upload that picture to Twitter as a picture, not a link, so those twitter followers that you have, but don't have Instagram or follow you can also see what you are sharing. One of the features that I would enjoy using IFTTT for, is once those pictures are posted since you link your Google account to the program it automatically can save those pictures into your google drive, no more having to email the picture to yourself or worrying about losing a picture in the cloud.
This week reading on lol... OMG! by Matt Ivester, he focuses on cyberbullying. growing up when social media was starting to take off on the rocket to changing everyday life, cyberbullying was born, this new form of bullying is even scarier than ever, you can pull somebody apart behind your phone or monitor and not have to worry about seeing their expression. I was watching Shark Tank the other night and a clever entrepreneur came on the show to pitch her idea of an application that she designed trying to get into the cell phone carrier market to help children sort of rethink their text messages that they sent with an alert. The author makes it clear that what you post follows you forever where you go, in a sense you have a criminal record and you have a media record, everything goes somewhere in a database and will shed the light of day if it needs to be found, potentially ruining a future before you can even start thinking about your future.
The world we live in has changed, AI is here to stay, and its designed to help make our complicated fast-paced lives easier. I enjoy how our world is evolving, it's great to know that people aren't afraid to say exactly what is on their minds and tell it how it is.
