On your job hunt in the near future, you should take a look at Light, Bright and Polite, specifically chapter 4, in the chapter the author hits on some key points that will help your overall hunt easier and better. Communication is key just like it is for everyday life, the main purpose of communication for employers is to see what type of person you are, but you should always remain as professional as possible. Get out of this tech lingo also, don't use phrases that you would send to your friends via text message, the English language is complex and very advanced, use it to your power and use proper punctuation and terminology. Social media is the norm now, so use it to promote your future, find things about your employer or the company itself and show your interest in them through your media, like it or not they're going to do checks on all your social media, at least if you have positive things on there about them you might just get brownie points.
Remember where you came from, no job is too stupid for anyone, because when you least expect things to go down the right path, they will. this week in class we met with David Sholler, he is the vice president of communications for the Sixers a professional basketball team for Philidelphia, PA. While speaking he made it clear that he's where he is today because of the networking he did while he was just an intern, made me realize it is who you connect with and network with that will help you in the long run of life. Ask questions, the most important thing in life is the knowledge that you have, no question is a dumb question at all so don't be afraid.
